Supfina will present the latest developments in precision abrasive finishing when it unveils its new SPIRO and FACE machines at IMTS 2016, the International Manufacturing Technology Show to be held September 12-17 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.
Making their US debuts at IMTS, the SPIRO fine-grinding machine and FACE flat-finishing machine expand Supfina’s surface-finishing portfolio so that the company—with facilities in North Kingstown, R.I., and Wolfach, Germany—becomes a full-range provider of machines to finish all types of flat surfaces.
“Not only can the SPIRO produce finished surfaces with the highest precision, it does so with the best efficiency and at the lowest cost per unit,” said Andrew Corsini, President and CEO of Supfina Machine Company. “The FACE, too, maximizes cost efficiency. Along with quality, reliability, and service, these principles drive us to be the technology leader for surface-finishing solutions.”
From aluminum to steel, from soft plastics to hard ceramics: The SPIRO provides the best fine-grinding solution for achieving highly precise plane parallelism (≤ 1.0 µm), as well as the most stringent tolerance requirements in the micron range.
What’s more, each machine can be customized to meet specific needs. Drive performance; loading options; filtration and cooling; optimal tooling: Supfina works closely with each customer to determine what solution works best for that particular machining task.
The FACE machine, meanwhile, provides fast, versatile solutions for the flat finishing of parts in a number of fields: injection technology, transmissions, hydraulics, and engines. Not only can medium and large quantities of parts be finished with the tightest tolerances in the sub-micron range, the job can be done with the highest reliability and efficiency.
In addition, the machine’s intelligent design eliminates the need for coolant for its spindles. Thus, the FACE uses far less energy — which saves not only costs but also the environment. Integrated fire-suppression technology ensures optimal safety, while the Supfina IQ-Finish process control guarantees reliable and continual compliance with the most demanding quality parameters.
IMTS 2016 attendees can see the SPIRO and FACE in action at Supfina’s booths — N-6299, N-6394, and N-6398 — in the North Building.
