On December 10, 2024, the "Inaugural Meeting of the Editorial Board of Automotive Manufacturing & Industry and the Sustaining Power Award 2024' Ceremony" was held in Shanghai.

The Sustaining Power Award 2024 selection event, themed "To support and promote traditional works, together for a further Journey," was organized by Machinery Industry Information Research's Automotive Manufacturing & Industry magazine. It progressed through rigorous stages of editor evaluations, online voting, and expert reviews by the editorial board, culminating in the recognition of 83 projects and companies with varied awards.

The automotive industry is undergoing a transformative disruption, with electrification, intelligence, digitization, and low-carbonization being the pivotal forces reshaping the industry's ecological landscape. Automotive technology innovation stands at the forefront of this transformation, propelling the industry forward vigorously and unleashing immense vitality.

The Sustaining Power Award 2024 highlights innovations in core automotive domains, acknowledging enterprises and teams that have significantly contributed to the industry's development. The Sustaining Power Award 2024 categories encompassed Automotive Technology Innovation Breakthrough Award, Automotive Process and Equipment Innovation Award, Smart Manufacturing Benchmark Award, Sustainable Development Benchmark Award, Outstanding Automotive Parts Supplier Award, and Outstanding Automotive Equipment Supplier Award.

The Automotive Technology Innovation Breakthrough Award and Automotive Process and Equipment Innovation Award particularly target key industry demands like new energy vehicles, intelligent connectivity, smart manufacturing, green manufacturing, and future transportation. They select advanced automotive innovation technologies and projects demonstrating originality, breakthroughs, and revolutionary advancements. This selection process adhered strictly to the principles of fairness, openness, and impartiality, incorporating self-nominations and recommendations.

Upon acceptance by the Sustaining Power Award 2024 evaluation group, initial screening and scoring were conducted by the Automotive Manufacturing & Industry editorial department, followed by online voting and, ultimately, professional review and scoring by experts from the Automotive Manufacturing & Industry editorial board. The respective weights were allocated as follows: 30% for the Automotive Manufacturing & Industry editorial evaluation, 20% for online voting, and 50% for expert review by the editorial board, determining the final scores and rankings through a comprehensive weighting system.
